LIGHT

10min meditation

total time: 10:38

relaxing the eyebrows, the jaws, the shoulders, the chest, the hips, the legs.
every time we inhale, we imagine a light coming into our body.
and as we exhale, we send that light all throughout our bodies.
as we inhale, this light moves in through us.
and as we exhale, we send that light to the parts of our bodies that need it the most.
deep breath in, filling ourselves with that light, and exhale releasing it throughout our body.
continue breathing in this light and sending it to the parts of the body that is feeling some tension or some sensations.
acknowledging those parts as holding on to energies for survival.
our bodies hold on to tension.
from experiences, not just our own, but also those around us who we come from, our ancestors.
so as we continue to breathe, we acknowledge our body for having the power to hold on to so much, hold onto things that may not even be mine.
things that have been passed down for generations and generations.
our nervous systems do not forget. Instead, it adapts. And oftentimes, we adapt by taking on survival mechanisms.
and symptoms could be a dysregulated nervous system.
increased stress, anxiety, paranoia.
feelings of loss of control, depression.
and although many times we may feel alone in these things.
even just knowing that we hold energies of our ancestors in our bodies, that alone lets us know that we are not alone.
if we can hold the grief and the pain of our ancestors, we also hold the power to hold the joy and the healing and the liberation of our ancestors.
so we continue to inhale this light, whatever color it may be.
we breathe it in deep into our bodies.
seeing this light as the power that not only comes from us, but everyone who came before us.
we inhale to accept this invitation to co-create together, not alone.
we inhale and we receive the powers of ourselves, of nature around us, of our family members, everything around us.
and we exhale. We send it all throughout our body.
to the places where we may be holding on to the past.
we send our breath to our body as healing light.
and as we exhale, we relax our shoulders and our jaws and our hips.
letting go of whatever may have been stored there.
without judgement.
without expectation.
slowly bringing our hands to our heart.
taking a deep breath in, stretching the spine long towards the sky.
and exhale, relax the shoulders down.
deep breath in, stretching long.
and exhale.
inhaling deeply into the belly.
and exhaling, letting it go.
noticing how our chest feels moving up and down in our hands.
noticing how my hands feel on my heart
noticing how the air feels when it enters my body.
noticing how it feels when it exits.
on our next inhale, we're gonna squeeze our shoulders up towards our ears just a little bit.
and exhale and let it go and down.
again, inhale, squeeze the shoulders up towards the ears. Softly. And exhale, relax it down.
one more time, inhale and squeeze maybe just a little bit more than last time.
and exhale. Let's shake it out again, slowly and softly shaking the neck.
the wrists, the elbows, the shoulders, shaking the hands out in front.
on the side, above, wherever it feels good for me.
noticing the energies releasing out through my body, feeling the power of that, of being a vessel of energy.
*energy*
whenever we're ready coming back to center.
we end with three collective breaths to be intentional about our place in this world together as a community, not just through our ancestors, but with one another.
a deep breath into the belly, the biggest one we have, slowly, softly filling up the body.
and exhale, letting it all go with open mouth.
again, even bigger breath, inhaling, letting it all go open mouth, releasing it into the world.
last one, the biggest one we've taken, a deep breath, filling up the entire body and holding it for just a little bit at the top.
maybe squeezing a little bit and exhale.
let it all go.
we don't need to hold on to anything.
i hope you enjoy the rest of your day and that you take this with you throughout the rest of your week whenever you need.
